Derwood C. Mills passed away Friday, December 21, 2018. He was born February 4, 1960 in Chatham County, NC. He is preceded in death by his father Curtis H. Mills, and a sister Debbie Crye. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Thursday December 27, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 9112 Lancaster Hwy, Waxhaw, NC 28173. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM in the church sanctuary. Derwood is survived by his daughter Amanda Dawn Mills Martin, husband Taylor, his mother Virginia Hinsley Mills of Waxhaw, brother-in-law Rev. Jerry Crye, two sisters; Teresa Mills and Suzie Mills Smith, husband Matt all of Indian Land, SC., nieces and nephews; Jerry Crye, Jr, Heather Crye, Amber Smith, Brandon Smith, and Sommer Mills.
