Devonne Nootie Lee Courtney Aldridge, 84, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016, at the Serenity House in Huntersville. She was born August 9, 1932, in Union County, NC, daughter of the late Joe Donald and Wilma Simpson Courtney. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 5, 2016, in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 10:00 to 10:45 AM on Monday, prior to the funeral service, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. She is survived by three daughters, Rhonda Jackson and husband, Ron, of Monroe, Mary Mayes and husband, George, of Huntersville, and Tammy Smith of Pageland; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
