Dewey Nall Robinson, 95, of Waxhaw, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016. He was born September 13, 1920, in Union County to the late Nall and Ella McManus Robinson. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Robinson served from 1942-1945 and retired from Celanese Corporation. He was a member of Mineral Springs United Methodist Church and the Cattlemen's Association, with whom he and his wife often traveled. Mr. Robinson loved being outdoors, gardening and fishing, and was known for his sense of humor and telling jokes. He is survived his children, Tammy Robinson Case and husband, John Edward Case of Waxhaw, Barry Scott Robinson and wife, Kathy Hardee Robinson of North Myrtle Beach, SC, and Dewey Vann Robinson and wife, Pam Ross Robinson of Statesville; grandchildren, Jessica Case Barmashi, Jordan Case, Jonathan Robinson, Amy Robinson Harris, and Ross Robinson; and one great-grandchild, Benjamin Robinson. Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Marcine Griffin Robinson. The family will visit with friends and relatives on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at Mineral Springs United Methodist Church, 5915 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Rd, Monroe, NC 28112, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in Mineral Springs UMC. Interment will be held in the church cemetery.
