Diego Morales Cortés, 17 años, de Waxhaw, Carolina del Norte, falleció el lunes 8 de julio de 2024. Nació en el condado de Mecklenburg el 6 de noviembre de 2006, hijo de Diego Morales Ríos y Cora Cortez Álvarez.

Se llevará a cabo un funeral a la 1:00 p. m. el miércoles 17 de julio de 2024 en la capilla de Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. El entierro se llevará a cabo después del funeral en Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1901. Lancaster Ave, Monroe, Carolina del Norte 28112.

Diego era un estudiante de último año en la escuela secundaria Forest Hills. Sus seres queridos lo llamaban Diegito. Le encantaba el boxeo, jugar su PS5 y pasar tiempo con Su familia y amigos. Su comida favorita era la pizza con alitas. Diegito describiría a su familia de la siguiente manera: su hermosa madre, quien es el amor de su vida; su padre, que es el hombre más respetuoso y trabajador que el haya conocido y a quien estaba orgulloso de llamar su padre; su hermano mayor, como el hermano más increíble y el mejor amigo que podría pedir; y su hermana mayor, a quien veía como una segunda madre, alguien a quien siempre admiraría, a quien amaba y protegía profundamente. Actualmente estaba esperando convertirse en tío primerizo de una hermosa niña, a quien le expresó su amor y entusiasmo. Una palabra para describir a Diegito fue cariñoso. El amor que sentía por sus padres y hermanos era como ningún otro: un joven muy cariñoso y lleno de amor El era el pegamento y la luz para su familia. Su madre quiere que lo recuerden como el joven amable, cariñoso, feliz, sonriente y muy respetuoso que era. Su familia siempre lo verá como el ángel guardián más hermoso que Dios podría haberles regalado

A Diegito le sobreviven sus amados padres Diego Morales Ríos y Cora Cortez Álvarez, sus abuelos Arbey Morales, Juana Ríos, Mariano Cortés y Yolanda Álvarez y sus hermanos, su hermano Arbey Morales Cortes, su hermana Yvette Morales Cortes y su sobrina Selena Cora Hernández.

Diego Morales Cortes, 17, of Waxhaw, NC passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024. He was born in Mecklenburg County on November 6, 2006, son of Diego Morales Rios and Cora Cortez Alvarez.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at the chapel at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. Entombment will be held following the funeral service at Lakeland Memorial Park Mausoleum, 1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Diego was a rising senior at Forest Hills High School. He was called Diegito by his loved ones. He loved boxing, playing his PS5, and spending time with family and friends. His favorite food was pizza with wings. Diegito would describe his family as follows: his beautiful mother, who is the love of his life; his father, who is the most respectful, hardworking man he's ever met and whom he was proud to call his father; his older brother, as the most amazing brother and best friend he could ever ask for; and his older sister, whom he saw as a second mother, someone he would always look up to, that he loved and protected deeply. He was currently waiting to become a first-time uncle to a beautiful baby girl, to whom he expressed his love and excitement. One word to describe Diegito was loving. The love he had for his parents and siblings was like no other: a very caring, nurturing young man who was the glue and light to his family. His mother wants him to be remembered as the kind, loving, happy, smiling, very respectful young man that he was. He will forever be seen by his family as the most beautiful guardian angel God could have gifted them.

Diegito is survived by his loving parents Diego Morales Rios and Cora Cortez Alvarez, his grandparents Arbey Morales, Juana Rios, Mariano Cortes, and Yolanda Alvarez, and his siblings, brother Arbey Morales Cortes, sister Yvette Morales Cortes, and his niece Selena Cora Hernandez.
