Dateline: Charleston, SC Dixie Starnes Tucker, 80, formerly of Monroe, NC, died Saturday, July 11, 2009 at Life Care Center, Charleston, SC. Dixie was born in Union County, NC, December 22, 1928, daughter of the late John Rodman and Velma Cook Starnes. She was preceded in death by her husband William F. Tucker in 1968. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at 2:00 PM in Mineral Springs United Methodist Church, 5915 Waxhaw-Monroe Rd., Mineral Springs, NC 28108. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM until 2:00 PM at the church. Dixie is survived by her sons Jerry Tucker of Mineral Springs, NC and Bill Tucker of Charleston, SC; daughter Ginger Tucker of Charleston, SC; brother John Starnes of Wingate, NC; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
