Donald James Broome, 80, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2016. He was born in Union County, NC on March 21, 1936 son of the late James and Mildred Hammill Broome. Mr. Broome was employed in the auto industry in Union County for many years and was a deacon in the High Hill Primitive Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 15. 2016 at 10:00 AM in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Broome is survived by his wife, Ruth Surratt Broome, sons, Monty Broome of Mint Hill, Scott Broome and Doug Broome, both of Monroe, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
