Donald Ray “Duck” Conway, 74 of Monroe, NC passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019. He was born in Carteret County on April, 9, 1945. Duck is survived by his loving wife Jo Bird Conway, a daughter Shelly Kelly (Kevin), two brothers; Ted Conway and Ernest Conway, (Vida), three grandchildren; Summer Moody, Christian Kelly, and Mary Kelly. He was a US Army Veteran, and retired as a Fraud Investigator for the State Employment Security Commission, and was awarded the Long Leaf Pine Award from the Governors Office for his years of service with the state of North Carolina. He was currently working as a Drivers Ed Teacher for Weddington High School. A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 2301 N. Rocky River Rd, Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm until 1:45pm at the church.
