Donald Mack Pate, 77, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Hospice of Union County. Donald was born on April 4, 1936 in Mecklenburg County, NC, to the late Henry Hampton Pate and Helen Matheson. A visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Monday, September 30, 2013 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC, 28112 followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. Donald is survived by his sons, Michael Lane Pate of Mt. Croghan, SC, Timothy Dwayne Pate of Pageland; daughter, Carolyn Buffy Woodard of Manhattan, Ka.; brothers and sisters, Robert Pate and Joyce Guin both of Monroe, Wade Pate of Charlotte, Ann Benton of Unionville, James Pate, Nancy Pate, Carrie Aldridge, and Kathy Langston, all of Monroe; 11 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death in addition to his parents by his wife, Carolyn Coan Pate; daughter, Kammie Lee Sims; and brothers, Joe and Henry Pate.
