Donald Dwight York, 88, of Monroe, NC passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Union County on August 15, 1935, son to the late James Andrew York and Bessie Medlin York. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Colene Richardson York, son-in-law Robert Stowe Brooks Jr., and thirteen siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Lakeview Baptist Church, 4602 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM in the church.

Donald is survived by son Scott York (Angie), daughter Pam Brooks, and two grandchildren Freddie York ( fiancée Emma Chandler ) and Ian York.
