Donnie Helms Simpson, 84, passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022. She was born March 15, 1938 in Union County, daughter of the late James Albert Helms and Thelma Broom Helms. She is preceded in death by her husband, L.A. “Bill” Simpson, and a brother, Monte Helms.

Private funeral services were held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Lakeland Memorial Park.

Donnie is survived by her son, Mark Simpson (Lynn) of Monroe, two daughters; Jan Plattenberger (Gary) of Wesley Chapel, Beth Fisher ( Bobby) of Monroe, six grandchildren; Adam Simpson of Chapel Hill, John Plattenberger of Wesley Chapel, Dan Plattenberger of Denver CO, Tom Fisher of Columbia SC, Robert Fisher of Boston MA, Charles Fisher of Trussville, AL and two great-grandsons; Austin Plattenberger and William Simpson.
