Doris Alene Funderburk

Alene Outen Funderburk, 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. She was born July 8, 1927 in Union County, daughter of the late Simon Durant and Ellie Medlin Outen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Alfred Funderburk; her son, Myron Funderburk and sixteen siblings. Ms. Funderburk was a graduate of Unionville High School and attended High Hill Primitive Baptist Church. A graveside service will be Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 1:00 PM in Lakeland Memorial Park, officiated by Elder Larry Austin. A family viewing will be from 12:00 - 12:45 PM prior to the service in Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC. Ms. Funderburk is survived by her daughter, Donna Renee Hinson of Monroe; her grandchild, Jeremy Hinson; and two great-grandchildren, Katilyn Hinson and Nathaniel Hinson; and granddog, Saber.
