Doris Greene Crook, 91, passed away on June 27, 2026. She was born in Union County, NC on March 24, 1935, daughter to the late Plase Greene and Ruth Aycoth Greene. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Hall Titus “J. C.” Crook, Jr., infant son, Larry Dean Crook, and two sisters, Faye Graham and Elsie Wilcox.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112, with a burial to follow at Prospect Southern Methodist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 - 10:45 AM in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service.

Doris is survived by her sons, Donny (Lisa) Crook, Bobby Crook, Tommy (Valerie) Crook, Bill Crook, daughter, Patti (David) Treece, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Virginia Baucom and Carolyn Helms.

Doris worked for many years at the hospital in Monroe, which she enjoyed so much that she volunteered there after her retirement. Doris also volunteered at the Union County Jail visitor’s desk. She enjoyed traveling with her friends, tending to plants, and was an avid reader.
