Doris Ellen Helms

Doris Godfrey Helms, 90, passed away Tuesday, July, 26, 2022. She was born in Union County, February 7, 1932, daughter of the late Robert Louis Godfrey and Violet Therrell Godfrey. She is also preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, Henry Helms, her second husband, Clifford Rowell and her brother, Roy Godfrey.

Funeral services will be held from the graveside 2:00PM Friday, July 29, 2022 at Waxhaw Baptist Church Cemetery, 8213 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Rd., Waxhaw, NC 28173. The family will receive friends following the service.

Doris was an active member of Waxhaw Baptist Church where she was involved with many ministries in the church. She was also a floral designer for many years.

Doris is survived by her daughter, Ann H. Fox (Tony) of Waxhaw; sister-in-law Elizabeth Godfrey of Waxhaw; two grandchildren, Kristin Fox and Jeffrey Fox (Misty); and five great-grandchildren.
