Doris Louise (Walters) Parker

Doris Walters Parker, 83, passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 25, 2013. She was born in Union County on June 4, 1930, daughter of the late William Bryant and Vera Efird Walters. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin, Bennett, Bobby Gene and Clarence Walters and sisters, Evelyn Polk, Geneva Curran, Lucille Walters and Mozelle Walters and Bryte Hyatt. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Benton’s Cross Roads Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 10:00 - 10:45 AM prior to the funeral at the church. Ms. Parker is survived by her son, Mike and wife Myra of Mint Hill; daughter, Vickie Keziah of Monroe; brother, Ronnie Walters of Peachland; sister, Miriam Thomas of Charlotte; grandchildren, Mysti Keziah of Monroe and Michael Jared Parker of Matthews; step-grandchild, Cheryl Provost and step-great-grandchildren, Alex Provost and Zachary Provost and two great-great-grandsons. The family would like to thank Hospice of Union County and Hospice of Presbyterian Hospital Matthews for their care and support by all the nurses and care providers.
