Doris Phillips Ramsey

Sara “Doris” Phillips Ramsey, 94, of Monroe, NC passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. She was born in Anson County, NC on April 4, 1929, the daughter of the late William Franklin Phillips and Mae Frances Coker Phillips. She was also preceded by her husband, Willard Ramsey, daughter, Anne Ashcraft, brothers, Algie Phillips and Dee Phillips, sister, Carri Nelson, and great-grandchild, Ryan Knotts.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 4, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Monroe, 109 W Morrow Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. She will be laid to rest in Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service at First Baptist Church of Monroe.

Doris is survived by her son, Steven Ramsey, daughter, Joyce Hopperton (Daryl); six grandchildren; Sara LaVere (Zach), Jason Ashcraft, Joshua Hopperton, Blake Ramsey, Kaitlin Cohn (Alex), and Caroline Ramsey and four great-grandchildren; Samantha Knotts, Kristen Knotts, Leona LaVere and Levi LaVere.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider making memorials to First Baptist Church of Monroe – Missions Fund, 109 W. Morrow Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
