Dorothy "Dot" Aderholt

Dorothy “Dot” Aderholt, 91, passed to her heavenly home on Friday, February 17, 2017 from McWhorter Hospice House in Monroe. She was born on September 7, 1925 to the late Roy C. Rape and Lona Stilwell Rape. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters and an infant son. Left to cherish special memories of her are a daughter, Judy Peralez of Charlotte; two sons, Mick Aderholt of Monroe and Ronnie Aderholt (Georgia) of New Bern, NC; two grandsons, Ryan Aderholt of New Bern and Sean Aderholt of Sneed’s Ferry, NC; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Young of St. Louis, MO and Raegan Aderholt of New Bern; her ex-husband and friend, Hugh Aderholt of Morehead City, NC and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister, Delores R. Reeb of Monroe and her precious cat, “Kitty Lou”, who was her constant companion for the last 12 years. She loved her family unconditionally and always put them before herself. We will always love her and will miss her more than words can express. The family would like to express their thanks to her niece, Angela Wallace, who stopped by each day after work to assist her with her dinner meal. They would also like to thank her nephew, John Palmer, who came from Charlotte every day to sit with her and other family members during her stay at Hospice.The family would also like to thank Pruitt Health Center and Hospice of Union County for their loving and compassionate care during her last days.
