Dorothy “Dot” Murray Cook, 92, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025. She was born in Union County, NC on September 26, 1932, daughter to the late Olin and Maude Richards Murray. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Charles Murray and her sister, Frances Helms.

A memorial service to celebrate Dot’s life will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at New Hope Southern Methodist Church, 3221 Plyler Mill Rd. Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit with friends following the service in the church. Dot will be laid to rest by her family privately at Lakeland Memorial Park.

Dot is survived by her son, Eddy B. Cook; sister, Katharine Steele; two grandchildren, Garrett Cook, Christina Salyer and husband Jeff; and two great-grandchildren, Colton Salyer, and Caden Salyer.
