Dorothy Elizabeth Greene, 88, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016. She was born August 10, 1927, daughter of the late Paul A. and Virgie Haigler Purser. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Stegall and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Greene is survived by her husband, Billy Morris Greene; daughters, Carolyn Braswell (Stephen) of Monroe, Linda G. Edwards (Rick) of Monroe, Darlene Greene (Randy Jenkins) of Bolivia, NC and son-in-law, Kenneth Stegall of Monroe; eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Sunday, February 28, 2016 at 3:00 PM in Zion United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Fish Road, Monroe, NC 28110, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends and relatives Sunday, from 2:00-3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
