Dot was a loving daughter, wife, mother, step-mother, sister, and special friend to all who knew her. She was a wonderful seamstress and many brides-to-be, mothers-to-be, family and friends were the recipients of the lovely handmade gifts she made. To Dot butterflies were one of the most beautiful creations of God. Her home was filled with evidence of this, as were greeting cards, gifts, and any other means which she could use to share their beauty. Dot was one who loved spending time with her friends. She was a member of the Silver Belles, who were a group of ladies who were graced with silver hair. These ladies would get together once a month for a girls-day-out. This would involve having lunch and then visiting all the specialty shops in the area. She was employed by Hartford/Royal Insurance Company from which she retired in 1996. Through this, many other friendships were established. Their relationship was such that throughout the years they also designated a specific day each month to get together for fellowship. She has left an indelible mark of love, kindness, and generosity upon all who knew her. “Precious in the sight of God is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15.
