Dorothy Sue Sapp

Dorothy McCray Sapp, 90, of the Wolf Pond Community in Pageland, SC met her Lord and Savior shortly after midnight on Thursday, December 17, 2020. She was born in Chesterfield County, SC, on January 4, 1930 daughter of the late Hurley Franklin McCray and Mary Frances Snyder McCray. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Ben T. Sapp, Jr. She was a lifelong member of Wolf Pond Baptist Church where she was WMU Director for many years, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She was a stay home mom until her children grew up & later worked part-time at Piedmont Permit Services. Dorothy was much loved by everyone who knew her and was known as a selfless friend and encourager to many. Her greatest legacy is leaving behind her children, grandchildren, and a great grandchild who all adored her. Dorothy is survived by her son, Daniel “Danny” Sapp (Nancy) of Pageland, SC, daughters, Mary Beth Mills (Randy) of Pageland, SC, Becky Woodrow (Jimmy) of Greensboro, NC, and Kay Deese (Tom) of Columbia, SC, brother, Caroll McCray (Anne) of Monroe, NC, sisters, Margaret Brown of Laurens, SC, and Martha Sayers of Concord, NC, five grandchildren, Carmen Moorer, Sam Sapp, Tyler Woodrow, Molly Eppich (Joey) and Ben Deese and one great-granddaughter, Carsyn Moorer.
