Douglas Earl Meyer, 44, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017. He was born in Mecklenburg County on July 6, 1973, son to Bonnie Meyer and to the late James K Meyer. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Shannon Meyer. A carpenter’s talent is to transform wood into a piece of art. This ability was Doug’s legacy to those who hold a part of his talent and love of him. Memorial service will be held at 12:00 PM on August 2, 2017 at Lee Park Chapel, 2505 Morgan Mill Road, Monroe, NC 28110. In addition to his mother, Douglas is survived by two special nephews, Nathan and Matthew, great-nephew that he adored, Landon Cole and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
