Dowd Whitfield Price, Jr. Nick MONROE - Dowd Nick Whitfield Price, Jr., 71, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was born in Union County on July 14, 1941, son of the late Dowd W. and Rosa Mills Price. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Price Pruitt (Becky). Mr. Price was retired from State Farm Insurance Company after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Sidewinders Car Club, Pontiac - Oakland Club International and Benton Heights Men's Breakfast Group. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and Assistant Treasurer. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 18, at 1:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112, officiated by Dr. Rev. Eric Cook and Rev. Dennis Helms. Burial will follow at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends and relatives prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Helms Price; sister, Reba Price Clemmer and husband, Don of Lancaster, SC; aunts Joanne Mills Helms and Ruby Price; other family members, Pat and Jerry Tomberlin, Rev. Dennis and Beverly Helms, Delilah and Ron Hinson and Deborah and Pudge Belk; nieces and nephews, Melissa Lowery, Eric Hinson, Mike Helms, Jeff Hinson, Matt Belk and Kelly Tomberlin; grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Sarah Daughtery, Nathan Hinson, Garrett Hinson, Adam Hinson, Maddi Hinson, Mae Hinson, Tyler Helms, Avery Helms, Katie Lowery, Shelby Belk, Maeley Belk and Danielle Hinson.
