Earl Hal Nance, 82, passed away Friday, September 20, 2013. He was born in Union County on September 30, 1930, son of the late Jonah Sanford and Rosa Austin Nance. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Chaney Nance. Mr. Nance was retired after many years of service with Scott Aviation. He enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of his labors with neighbors, friends, family and others. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Benton's Cross Roads Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Chris Baucom. The family will visit with friends and relatives beginning at 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Mr. Nance is survived by his brother, Bridger Nance of Marshville; sisters, Janie Kelley of Marshville and Eunice Long of Winston-Salem.
