Mr. Edgar “Ed” Martin Tyson, 82, of Wadesboro, NC passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026. He was born in Lancaster County, SC on May 16, 1944, son to the late Henry Ford Tyson and Grace Starnes Tyson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, October 26, 2026, in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, with entombment to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM until 1:45PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of over 18 years, Joyce Griffin Rorie Tyson, and his stepdaughter, Gretchen Harwood (Dale) and a grandson, Jared Harwood, two brothers, Mitchel Tyson (Dixie), and James Tyson.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 15958 White Store Pageland Road, Marshville, NC 28103.
