Edith Inez Black

Inez Torrence Black, 91, of Tampa, FL passed away December 16, 2020 at Brookdale Monroe Square, Monroe, NC. She was born in Charlotte, NC on April 4, 1929 to the late William Torrence and Edith Millen Torrence. She was a graduate from Charlotte Technical High School in 1947. Inez retired from the University of South Florida. She is also preceded in death by her husband Clarence Wade Black, daughter, Debra Elaine Black, two brothers, Ralph Eugene Torrence and James Audrey Torrence; and sister, Dorothy Torrence Hice. A visitation will be held at 1:00PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00PM Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. She will be laid to rest in Tampa, Florida at Garden of Memories. Inez is survived by her sister, Helen Torrence Helms and brother, Earl “Pete” Clifford Torrence, and loving nephew James “J.T.” Audrey Torrence Jr., and many nieces and nephews.
