Edith Margueritte Judkins

Ms. Edith Margueritte Judkins, 83, passed away April 29, 2014. Edith was born on July 10, 1930 to the late Walter William and Edith Mooers Judkins. Edith was a graduate of Alexander Central School in Genesee Co. NY. She received a B.A. degree at Greensboro Women’s College and a Master’s degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. She studied opera under the late Marjory Lawrence and sang with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra. Edith touched many lives through her career in education. She taught at Queens College and most recently at Monroe High School’ where she retired after 21 years. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC, 28112. The family will receive friends following the service. Surviving are her brothers, Ret. Col. Paul Judkins of NY and Roy Judkins (Norma) of PA; sisters, Sylvia Judkins of NC and Eloine Dunlap of CT; as well as several nieces and nephews.
