Edith Pearson Myers, 81, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007. She was born in Buncombe County, NC on July 11, 1926 daughter of the late Willie L. and Julia G. Pearson. Edith was formally of Asheville N C in which she lived most of her life. She is a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Monroe, was a former member of St. Eugene’s Catholic Church in Asheville and past president of St. Joseph’s Hospital Guild. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Eller Myers, son John Alan Myers and grandson William Lee Myers. She is survived by two sons, Ben E. Myers, Jr. of Duluth, GA and Charles P. “Church” Myers and wife Dean of Monroe, daughter-in-law, Shannon K. Neal and husband Benny of Monroe, three grandchildren, Anthony C. Myers, Duluth, GA, Adam K. Myers, of Charlotte and Kimberly M. Love and husband Patrick of High Point, three great granddaughters, Jessica L. Myers, of Anderson, SC, Samantha and Rory Love of High Point, special family friend, Joe Stoniecki, sister-in-law, Eugina Pearson of Booneville, two nephews and three nieces. A Rosary will be held Friday evening at 6:30 followed by visitation from 7:00 until 8:30 at Gordon Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6000 Fairview Rd., Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210, American Heart Association, 222 S.
