Edward "Tick" Kirkwood Godfrey, 82, of Rock Hill, SC., passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021. He was born in Union County on November 2, 1938, son to the late Hazel Godfrey and Mary Thomas Godfrey. He is also preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Hutto Godfrey and a brother, Allen Godfrey. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Waxhaw Baptist Church, 8213 Old Waxhaw Monroe Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the burial in the church fellowship hall. Tick was a huge fan of the Duke Blue Devils, he enjoyed all sports. He played church softball and was the coach for Waxhaw Baptist Church Softball team. This was his true love and passion. He is survived by his two daughters , Debbie Boulton (John), Paula Stehley (Mark) son Edward Wayne Godfrey. A brother, David Godfrey, five grandchildren, Brittany Ashcraft; Tiffany Ashcraft; Trinity Stehley; Josh Frady (Danielle); Chelsea Boulton; as well as two great-grandchildren, Peyton Frady and Paisley Frady.
