Edward Wallace Sr. Kimball

Edward Eddie Wallace, Kimball, Sr., passed away in the company of family at Novant Health Medical Center in Matthews, NC, on October 26, 2015, after an extended illness. Mr. Kimball was born June 3, 1937, in Warner, NH, to his parents, Herbert and Ruth Kimball. He graduated from Stephens High School in Claremont, NH, and then served in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic for 4 years. In 1961, he married Helene Jeffrey and they resided in her hometown, Springfield, VT. They later moved to Waxhaw, NC. Mr. Kimball worked at Conbraco Industries in Matthews, NC, until his retirement in 2000. Mr. Kimball led an active life and enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, hunting, fishing, swimming, ice skating, and gardening. Mr. Kimball is survived by his wife, Helene; his son, Edward, Jr., and wife, Lisa; his daughter, Teresa Terri Handy and husband, Gerald; and granddaughter, Tonya Kimball. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Kramarz. The family will receive friends and relatives on Sunday, November 1, 2015, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. Services for Mr. Kimball will be held at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277, on Monday, November 2, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Waxhaw City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Novant Hospice, 324 N. McDowell Street-Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28204.
