Edward Samuel Parker

Mr. Edward “Preach” Parker Sr., 86, of Waxhaw, NC, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021. He was born in Union County on April 14, 1934, son to the late Cornelius Wilson Parker and Maime Richardson Parker. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years Mrs. Betty Jo Faulk Parker, a brother, Frank Parker and sister, Vera Parker. A graveside service will be at 2:00PM, Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Waxhaw Baptist Church Cemetery, 8213 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173. He is survived by his children, Debbie Braswell (Jim), Karen Sloop (Rick), Sandy Myers (Roger), Eddie Parker (Tammy); seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, and a brother, Sam Parker. “Preach” was a lifelong member of Waxhaw Baptist Church, where he served in several ministries, including Deacon, Trustee, and a longtime leader of the Baptist Men’s Missions Group, where he led several mission projects. He enjoyed wood working and fishing trips to Cape Hatteras and looked forward to family vacations. Pawpaw’s” pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Charlotte Region, PO BOX 470408, Charlotte, NC 28247.
