Mr. Edward “Dick” Worley III, 77, of Monroe, NC passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2019. He was born in Union County on September 5, 1941 to the late Edward “Buck” and Hazel Worley. He was also preceded in death by his infant daughter Leigh Ann Worley in 1976. A funeral service for Dick will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, April 18, 2019 at Central United Methodist Church, 801 S. Hayne St., Monroe, NC 28112. Burial to follow in Monroe City Cemetery. Dick is survived by his daughter Becca Schumacher, husband Jon, and four grandchildren; Hannah, Jake, Zane and Bre Schumacher, step-son Matt Carpenter, and one brother, John Worley, wife Margaret, niece Beth Medlin, husband Jason, grand-nephews; Silas and Will, niece Anna Troppmann, husband Tyler, grand-nephews; Wes and J.T. and Nephew Buck Worley. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
