Elder Larry Brevard Austin, 85, of Monroe, NC passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. He was born in Union County, NC son to the late RC Austin and Louise Honeycutt Austin. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Walden Austin, brother, Ken Austin, and brother-in-law, AC Carpenter.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, October 9, 2026, at High Hill Primitive Baptist Church, 2225 Concord Ave, Monroe, NC 28110, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave Monroe, NC 28110.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Lisa Wood (David), and son, Mitch Austin (Teresa), three sisters, Phyllis Baucom (Keith), Deloris Croxton (Tom), and Karen Carpenter, sister-in-law, Anne Austin, four grandchildren, Brandon Belk (Brittany), Zach Belk (Sara), Corey Austin (Marissa), and Kyle Austin (Laurel), nine great-grandchildren, Austin Belk, Paisley Belk, Easton Belk, Allie Belk, Emberlynn Austin, Ava Austin, Collins Belk, Lettie Austin, and Andie Austin.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to High Hill Primitive Baptist Church, C/O Bill Parker, PO BOX 886, Waxhaw, NC 28173 or Atrium Health Hospice of Union County, 700 W. Roosevelt Blvd Monroe, NC 28110.
