Elizabeth Reid Howie

Waxhaw, NC Elizabeth Reid Howie, 93, died Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Mrs. Howie was born in Mecklenburg County, NC, October 6, 1914 daughter of the late Herman and Augustine Reams Reid. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Houston Howie in 1969. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 11:00 AM in the Waxhaw United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Waxhaw Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 until 10:45 AM at the church also. Elizabeth is survived by sons Lester H. Howie and wife Judy and James H. “Jim” Howie and wife Alice both of Waxhaw, NC; three grandchildren; step daughter Quinn Helms and husband Roy Smith of Monroe and two step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Waxhaw United Methodist Church, Building Fund, P. O. Box 9, Waxhaw, NC 28173 .
