Mrs. Ellen Diane Simpson, 70, of Monroe, NC, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020. She was born in Union County on January 24, 1950 to the late Ralph D. Helms and Ellen Faye Medlin Helms. She is also preceded in death by a grandson Logan Simpson and step-father Britton Helms. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM Friday, December 18, 2020 at Love Baptist Church, 707 Deese Rd. Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM until 1:45PM in the church. Diane is survived by her loving husband, Raeford Simpson, sons, Kenny Simpson and Andy Simpson (Lori), daughters, Darlene Hinson (Brian) and Alison Funderburk (Robby), brothers, Allen Helms (Cindy) and Danny Helms (Ann), sister, Teresa L. Helms and twelve grandchildren as well as nine great-grandchilden.
