Elsie Stafford Benton

Elsie Stafford Benton MONROE - Elsie Stafford Benton, 77, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013. She was born August 3, 1935, in Mecklenburg County, daughter to the late James and Florence Lineberger Stafford. She is also preceded in death by a daughter Danice Thompson. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, March 18, 2013, at High Hill Primitive Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service starting at 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM. She is survived by her loving husband, William Bill Benton; two sons, David Deason, and wife Kim of Matthews, Danny Benton of Oakboro; two daughters, Cathy Norris and husband Jim of Everett, WA, and Lorrie Foster and husband Mark of Monroe; a brother, Paul Stafford of Charlotte; three sisters, Blanche Booth of Harrisburg, Gladys Ryles and Lois Lowery both of Charlotte; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
