Elton A. Hubbard

Elton A. Hubbard, 96, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012. He was born on August 12, 1915 in Cary, NC son of the late Paul and Lillian Hicks Hubbard. Mr. Hubbard was a US Army WW II veteran and retired from the North Carolina National Guard after 28 years. He also worked for the Charlotte News/Observer in circulation until 1974. Mr. Hubbard is survived by his wife, Margaret Dean Hubbard, sons, Bill Hammond, (Patty) Tommy Hammond (Mary), Terry Hammond and Clinton Hammond, daughters, Cindy H. Smith (Bobby) and Janet H. Wiese (Doug), all of Monroe, sister, Juanita H. Deese of Monroe, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, nephews, Paul and Phil Hubbard, and niece, Debbie. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 14, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.
