Emlin Locklear, 78, of Monroe, left this world Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Atrium-Union. He was born September 7, 1943 in Hoke County, North Carolina. He attended Prospect School in Prospect, NC. He moved to Michigan when he got older and worked for GM Motor Company. He then married his wife, Betty Jane and they were married for 55 years. He loved his family more than anything in the world, he went to church, loved to travel, loved the outdoors, went hunting with friends, and loved working on cars. He also told some great stories from his childhood. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2022 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel 1904 Lancaster Ave with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday before the service from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the funeral home. In addition to his wife, Betty, Emlin is survived by two sons, John Locklear, Robert Locklear (Linda), a daughter, Michelle Post, five grandchildern, Aleesha Brooks, Alex Locklear, Arion Locklear, Kanaan Post, Konnor Post, brothers and sisters, Ben Strickland, Norm-Lee Oxendian, Eunice Lee, Carson Locklear, Helen Locklear, Harold Locklear, Billy Locklear, and Pat Sattler.
