Dateline: Monroe, NC Emma Lou Dowless, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2011. She was born in Bladen County, NC on February 9, 1929 daughter of the late Lennon and Ada Evers Cain. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 2:00 PM in New Light Pentecostal Freewill Baptist Church, Bladenboro, NC. Burial will follow in the Singletary Cemetery. Mrs. Dowless was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Worth Dowless. She is survived by a son, Richard Martin Dowless and wife Carolyn of Monroe, NC, daughter, Sandra D. Rich and husband Ted of Bladenboro, NC, brother, L. D. Cain, 2 grandchildren, Wesley and Corey Rich and 1 great grandchild, Ellie Rich. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 at Lewis Bowen Funeral Home in Bladenboro, NC.
