Ernest Ray Baucom, 93, of Monroe, NC passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026. He was born in Union County, NC on January 24, 1933, son to the late James Conley Baucom and Ruth Williams Baucom. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Claxton Baucom and two sisters, Lib Price and Edna Hudspeth.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church, 3619 Morgan Mill Rd, Monroe, NC 28110, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Doris Little Baucom, son, Randy Baucom (Nancy), daughter, Angelia Herrin (Tim), sister, Willie Mae Furr, seven grandchildren, Miranda Mitchell (Mitch), Casi Pressley (Brandon), Andrew Herrin (Lindsey), Laura Coley (Jay), Lydia Miller (Austin), Hannah Carelock (James), Caleb Herrin, and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
