Estelle Duckett Culbreth

Estelle Duckett Culbreth, 101 years old, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Rex Duckett and Daphene Stell Duckett. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jesse Earl Culbreth.

She was born in Washington, DC on September 1, 1921 and moved to St. Petersburg, Florida as a young child. She graduated from St. Petersburg Junior College and married Earl on June 20, 1942. She lived as a devoted wife for 67 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Being a strong Christian woman led her to be involved in various church activities.

Estelle loved God, her family, the Atlanta Braves and was a superb cook.

Estelle is survived by her children; Rex Culbreth (Kay) of Waxhaw, Pat Culbreth Fenton of Bradenton, Florida, and John Culbreth of Matthews. Her nine grandchildren are, Scott Culbreth (Vicki), Amy Culbreth, Kirstie Watts (Jeff), Chip Halloran (Tricia), Brian Fenton, Lauren Cross (Scott), Mark Fenton, Jonathan Culbreth (Janet) and Matthew Culbreth (Amanda). Her nineteen great-grandchildren are Hannah and Hailey Culbreth, Zack and Emily Watts, William and Piper Halloran, Emma, Gillian and Evangeline Fenton, Austyn and Ayden Cross, Pierce and Preston Fenton, Jaxton Culbreth, Pamela Strawderman (Toby), Dalton Downey, Moses, Josie, and Luke Culbreth.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the love, compassion and care given by Kathy Fuss, Peggy Porter, Delorce Tomberlin, Carolyn Alexander and Debbie Teague.

A funeral service will be officiated by her much beloved pastor, Rev. Rich Myers, at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 4013 New Town Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173, with burial to follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
