Eugene Purser 76, of Union County passed peacefully Saturday January 10, 2026, at Atrium Hospice of Monroe. He was born in Union County on November 17, 1949, son of the late Haron & Lucille McRorie Purser.

Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Beverly; three sons, Brian Purser (Yvonne), Darren Purser (Kimberly), Brandon Purser, a daughter Ashlyn Schneider (Jake); two brothers Jimmy Purser (Linda), and Donald Purser (Terri); seven grandchildren, Jared Purser, Jordyn Purser, Madison Schneider, Evan Schneider, Reagan Schneider, Lance Hunter, and Ciela Crane; lifelong best friend Donald Plowman.

Eugene will be remembered as a quiet man who lived out his faith in his devotion to his church, his family, and his friends. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He was a caretaker at heart who faithfully devoted himself to making those he served feel valued and loved.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Hopewell Baptist Church (Legacy Campus) 420 Hopewell Church Road, Monroe, NC 28110, burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM in the sanctuary.

The Purser family would like to express our most heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Erin Haynes and Terri Long for their outstanding care given to our husband/father. Their exceptional devotion to quality medicine and emotional care was a sustaining factor in his journey.

In accordance with his love for animals and children, memorials may be made to ASPCA or Children International Memorial Fund.
