Florence (Davis) Gravatt

Florence Davis Gravatt, 93, of Monroe, NC, formerly of Clarksburg, NJ, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the home of her daughter, Harriet Metrosky. She was delivered by a midwife on August 8, 1923 in Hightstown, NJ, the second youngest of seven children to Charles and Ellen Ronan Neher. She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Robert Daniel Gravatt and son in-law, Joseph Robert Metrosky. Funeral services will be held in Perrineville, New Jersey and will be announced by Higgins Memorial Home of Freehold, New Jersey. Florence was a faithful member of the United Presbyterian Church of Millstone, New Jersey. She retired from the Millstone Twp. School System of New Jersey in office administration, where she also held several positions including, acting school board secretary. Survivors include two sons, Daniel Robert Gravatt and his wife Penny of New Jersey, John Charles Gravatt and his wife Ellen of New Jersey, a daughter Harriet Marie Metrosky of Monroe, NC, six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and countless friends.
