Mrs. Florine Crook, 84, of Monroe, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015, at her residence. She was born July 17, 1930, in Union County, NC, daughter of the late Theron Clontz and Ona Lee Little Clontz. Mrs. Crook is survived by three daughters, Martha Crook Hauser of Atlanta, GA, Vera Shanley and husband, Jim of Hillsborough, NC, and Marie Crook Bossert of Durham, NC; grandchildren, Meghan Marie Hauser, Erin Hauser Strickland, Sara Kathleen Bossert, and McKenzie Elizabeth Bossert; one brother, David Clontz of Monroe; and two sisters, Julia Hinson and Beverly Carnes, both of Monroe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. George Smith Crook and sister, Alice Blackmon. Funeral services for Mrs. Crook will be held Sunday, May 24, at 3:00 PM at Crooked Creek Primitive Baptist Church, 7920 Crooked Creek Church Road, Monroe, NC 28110. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 23, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112.
