Frances Drake Baucom, 95, of Monroe, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. She was born in Union County, NC on May 20, 1930, daughter to the late James Paul Drake and Eula Rushing Drake. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Calhoun Baucom and their two children, Ted Baucom and Kay Baucom Maiers, as well as her brother, Dwight Drake.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Monday, April 13, 2026, in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 3:00PM until 5:00PM on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Jan Baucom Moore (Donald), daughter-in-law, Lynn Baucom, and son-in-law Jerry Maiers, and four grandchildren, Cindy Kaul (Sean), Alison Clark (Brandon), Heather Rogone (John), Hunter Baucom (Katelyn), and eight great-grandchildren, Ransom Kaul, Raleigh Kaul, Cheyenne Chafin, Maverick Chafin, John Rogone III, Mason Rogone, Caroline Baucom and Emma Baucom, as well as a very special friend of almost 20 years, Troy Rushing.

She spent many years of her life as a poultry farmer beginning in 1956. She loved her work on the farm and ultimately retired in 2009.
