Frances C. (Crook) Hawfield

Mrs. Frances Margaret Hawfield, 96, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018. She was born January 14, 1922 in Union County, NC daughter to the late Issac and Carrie Mullis Crook. She is also preceded in death by her husband William R. Hawfield, two brothers, Harold and Marvin Crook, two sisters, Peg Gordon and Mildred Greene. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Lakeland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00AM until 10:45AM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112. Frances was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she served as Sunday School teacher in the children’s department for many years. She is survived by her son William R. “Billy” Hawfield Jr, wife, Karen Lee Hawfield of Hickory and one sister Dorothy “Dot” Crook, a granddaughter Eugenia Martinez and a great-grandson Admando Diasye.
