Frances (Pressley) Miller

Frances Pressley Miller, 86 of Waxhaw passed away Saturday, June 1, 2013. She was born August 18, 1926 daughter of the late Lex and Lola Rowell Pressley. She is also preceded in death by her husband George Matthew Miller, three sisters infant Peggy Ann Pressley, Billie Myddelton North, and Pauline Tadlock, and a brother Thomas Wiley TW Pressley. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Waxhaw United Methodist Church 200 McDonald St. Waxhaw, NC 28173. Interment will follow in Waxhaw City Cemetery. She is survived by her children Marilyn Ashley, husband Richard, of Rockingham, Wayne Miller wife Donna Funderburk of Concord, Sheila Simpson husband Jerry of Waxhaw, and Carol Starnes husband Tony of Waxhaw, a sister Betty Jean Rape of Monroe. Her children provided her ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren that she loved individually and collectively and which were the focus of great pride in her life. She also had an extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, along with special caregivers whom she loved dearly. She graduated from Waxhaw High School and married George Matthew Miller who lived just up the street. Frances and George were married for 61 years until he passed away in 2007. She was a devoted employee of Springs Industries Customer Service and worked in both Lancaster and Rock Hill for 32 years until her retirement in 1992. She was a selfless individual whose dedication to family, and devotion to her mother and husband during years of declining health was a testament to her Christian Faith. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave. Monroe, NC 28112.
