Frances Riggins Sell

Frances Riggins Sell, 97, of Matthews, NC passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. She was born in Union County on September 10, 1925, daughter to the late Ervin Baxter Riggins and Sally Alma Davis Riggins. She is preceded in death by her first husband World War II Veteran, John C. Moore and her second husband Garah Sell, two brothers Lonnie Riggins, Bruce Riggins, three sisters, Lois Grant, Odessa Baker, and Lib Mangum as well as a daughter-in-law Mary Moore.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends and relatives immediately following the service. The committal service is to follow the visitation at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.

Frances is survived by her son Daniel C. Moore, daughters Terry Giancalo (Dave Yarborough), Glenda Bivens (David), and Carol Christian (Frank), sister Martha Taylor, seven grandchildren, Chris Moore, David Bivens, Lisa Hearn, Chris Mulwee, Scott Mulwee, Brent Hutchison, and Aaron McCann, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
