Frances Ellen (Richardson) Small

Frances Richardson Small, 92, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014. She was born in Union County, NC on January 28, 1922 daughter of the late John Hoyle and Euna Viola Tyson Richardson. She graduated from Mineral Springs High School and Carolina Business School. Mrs. Small worked at Camp Sutton in the civilian payroll department until it closed, then later worked as a real estate broker and at the Ellen Fitzgerald Senior Center. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Monroe, where she was a member of the Faith, Hope and Charity Circle. She enjoyed genealogy, compiling and publishing several books and was a member of the Carolinas Genealogical Society. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 2:00 until 2:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112 followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Small is survived by her husband, Otha “Buck” Small, daughters, Belinda Sims of Monroe, and Anita Small of Charlotte, also 1 grandchild.
