Frank Heath Crow, Jr, 77, a native of Waxhaw in Union County, NC and formerly of Florence, SC died on January 25, 2019 in Charlotte, NC. He was the only son of the late Frank Heath Crow, Sr. and Ida Clifton Lowe Crow. He was a graduate of Wilkes Central High School and received a bachelor's degree in English from Appalachian State University in 1965. Frank received a master's degree in English from Appalachian State University in 1966. Before his retirement and relocation to Charlotte, Frank served as President of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Florence Regional Arts Alliance. A past President of the Board of Directors and Administrative Director of Florence Ballet Company and former Executive Director of Florence Little Theatre, he was always heavily involved in the arts community. He loved directing musicals at FLT. And, his love for singing as a Tenor gave him ample opportunities to be featured as a soloist in local productions and community and church concerts. He was Director of Public Relations and Publications and Assistant Director of Information Services from 1970 to 1974 at Francis Marion College. As a young boy, Frank was a member of the Apollo Boys Choir of Palm Beach, Florida from 1951 to 1954. The 25-member professional ensemble, founded in 1934, provided him with the opportunity to train his voice for both choral and solos while touring the United States. Private interment will be in Waxhaw Cemetery. Memorials in Frank's memory may be sent to a charity of your choice or Florence Little Theatre at 417 S. Dargan Street, Florence, SC 29506.
