Frank Stowe Spratt

Frank Stowe Spratt, Jr. Mr. Spratt, 79, of Monroe, NC, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at his home on April 12, 2008. He was born in Mecklenburg County on July 19, 1928, and was the son of Frank Stowe Spratt, Sr. and Viola Frazier Spratt. He served in the U. S. Air Force, was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers for 29 years, and retired from Eastern Airlines after 31 years. Mr. Spratt was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monroe. Among his accomplishments, he was proudest of his family and happiest when they all could be together. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Margaret Holton Spratt, and their three children: Gail Spratt Holford and her husband Del, Frank Stowe Spratt III and his wife Cindy, and Mary Ann Spratt Green and her husband Mark, all residents of Charlotte. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lori and Brian Holford, Josh Spratt and Cameron Green. Visitation will be Monday, April 14, 2008 from 6-8 pm, at Gordon's Funeral Cremation Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe. A private graveside service for the immediate family will be held at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church cemetery in Charlotte. Mr. and Mrs. Spratt had been members there for 33 years before moving to Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Boulevard, Monroe, NC 28110 or to Steele Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 7407 Steele Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28217.
